Dan Bakes

I promised Dan that I would blog about his apple pie, and let me just say it was actually pretty darn good. Dan did everything. I didn't help at all and he was so proud. I mean he did the dough the filling, and even did a pattern on top of the pie crust. He watched that pie bake like a hawk making sure it baked perfectly. It was pretty cute how excited he was about his apple pie. It made me love him all that much more to see how happy he was about it.

The final Product.

Ranger No, Ranger Go potty, Ranger not on the bed,

Ranger Ranger Ranger. What are we going to do with you.....
I swear he is a child!
Here is what Ranger has done to our lives since we have gotten him. First I must say I absolutely love him, and he is the most precious thing in the world, but man oh man I was not expecting it to be this much work! So many people warned us over and over again, but we had to get him.
The first few days we had him, he got sick and was throwing up everywhere. So I took him to our Vet and the Doctor looked him over, did some tests and came back in to talk to me. Here is what he says.....
"Lesli, I have a big concern about Ranger, His symptoms, and how quickly they came about is a major sign of Parvo. In other words a puppy killing disease. There is nothing you can do to help it, if your puppy has this he will DIE!"
Literally people this is what the Doctor told me. So I of course tell him to run the test. The nurse grabs Ranger and leaves the room.
I just break down and start crying. I am in the crammed little room not allowed to turn my cellphone on. It was very scary.
The Test results......NEGATIVE! holy crap I was so happy. The Doctor was so nice and comforted me, and told me it was ok to cry. It was a very touching moment. I now love my vet even more. so he gave us some medicine and Ranger hates it. ha ha its a joy giving it to him but
now Ranger is doing great and spoiled.

He poops and pees everywhere. Thank goodness for Resolve!
He wakes up every 2 hours in the night to go potty.
He whines when we put him in his kennel at night, whines for ever!
He is so adorable that I don't even care that I am falling asleep at my desk at work
He makes me laugh all the time.
He's definitely preparing us for kids

&

He's already a part of the family

Meet Texas Ranger

We did it! we bought our very first puppy! This has been an ongoing decision for quite some time now, and I never thought we would actually get one, but now we do. His name is Texas Ranger, but we just call him ranger. Ranger is a Yorkie/Maltese mix. See it worked out perfectly for us because I wanted a Yorkie, obviously to follow in my mom and sisters footsteps, and Dan wanted a Maltese. We ended up finding a breeder who had mixed dogs that were breaded from pure Yorke's, and pure Maltese making a MORKIE! He simply is the cutest thing in the world, and follows Dan and I around where ever we go. We really have no idea what we are doing but so far he seems to be doing really well.
He is so much fun!

He absolutely loves Dans shoulder. He slept there for like 4 hours. It was so cute

Cougars Vs. Bears

Tuesday night was a beautiful night for a baseball game. BYU vs. BAYLOR. Now to Baylor students it wasn't really a big thing, to them BYU is just another team, but for us who grew up proud to wear the blue, well it was a different story. We headed to the game to meet up with some of Dan's geology buddy's and their wives. It was great fun because some of us cheered for BYU and others cheered for Baylor. The stands were pretty empty, but I think everyone was pretty wrapped up in Baylor playing Texas Tec. in basketball! GO BAYLOR. I am excited for March Madness, I just hope Baylor can hold on to their spot.
anyways it was still fun to hear others in the stand cheer for BYU. It made me feel a little closer to Utah/Idaho. ha ha basically the same place right?

Our Teams, I wear the blue with Pride!

We had really good seats since not a lot of people were there.

The Boys before the game started. It was so fun to see BYU play! but I do still love Baylor

What the? Snow? in Texas?

I know I am new to Texas and everything, I mean we have only lived her for the past 7 months, but all my life I was taught that Texas was very warm, even in the winter! Well I was taught wrong. The weather here in Waco is just as crazy as in Rexburg. Sunday was absolutely beautiful. It was warm the sun was shining. It is now Tuesday and this is what we woke up to this morning......

Yep full on snow storm! It has snowed here before but just flurry's every once in while, nothing like this. I literally could have taken this picture in Idaho and no one would have noticed the difference. I was excited! I love the snow. What I think is funny, is that its this white fluffy beautiful snow, and Texans are freaking out. Schools are closed. Work was cancelled and they are driving super slow. THE ROADS ARE JUST WET. and there is hardly any snow on the ground. Its not even windy! Its great it makes me laugh. From what we have been told this is totally abnormal, it hasn't been like this for almost 20 years! I am glad we moved here when we did ha ha. Texas must have known that I was missing snow, and gave me my wish, But I am definitely ready for it to warm up, which I am sure it will tomorrow.
Anyways I just wanted to share a little of Texas life.

V-V-V-Valentines Day!

Valentines day, like all Valentines day was great! Dan and I especially love Valentines day because 3 years ago on Valentines day was our first date, first hand hold, and first kiss. Ya we didn't waste much time. 2010 was simple and fun. We had dinner Saturday night, nothing really fancy, well really not fancy at all we went to a pizza parlor, but its one of our favorite places here so it was really fun!
Then Sunday, we went to church, came home, and had a little romantic dinner at our own home. I decorated the table and made Dan a roast w/mashed potatoes dinner. Its One of Dans ultimate favorite meals. We had an enjoyable day.
Dan seriously is the best. Here is why.. He hands me my valentines gift. I unwrap it and.... let me tell you first that I have been wanting to go get some crayons and a coloring book for a while but just never did. so my Valentines gift was crayons and not just a regular coloring book, heavens no, thats to boring for Dan. He goes and MAKES ME A COLORING BOOK! He inverted some of our pictures together and made me my very own "LANCASTER" Coloring book! It seriously was one of the best gifts I have ever gotten.

Our Valentines day Table

My Ultimate sweet, Wicked Awesome, Coloring book and Crayons

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!

Don't Put it in the Dishwasher

I usually am pretty good about what goes into my dishwasher, ya know nice knives specific plastic containers and so on are not allowed in there. So I loaded the dishwasher with the dishes, started it, and then later started to unload it. Low and behold I pull out two plastic water bottles that were clean and ready for use again, I reach for the 3rd one and this is what I get......

Other two water bottles great, this one just didn't make it. Now this isn't even the best part. I am on Skype chatting with Megan my sister and I show her what happened and she laughed, and said "Does the Lid still fit?' I go "Meg have you seen it? It won't even stand on the bottom, it has to balance on the top! why would I even care if the lid fits, I'm not using it again" She laughs and goes well I would still use it!
Really Megan? you would use a $3.00 melted water bottle instead of just going to Walmart and getting another one? Ya Megan you are weird.
So please be careful what you put in your dishwasher.
