Friday Afternoon

I've said it a million times and I will say it again. I love Dan always being home by noon on Friday. It's basically a 3 day weekend every weekend. It's an extra bonus to hang out with daddy and to be able to go out and do things when it's not so crowded is always nice. We headed down to one of our favorite parks that sits right on top of an underpass. It has fun food trucks, you can play board games for free, you just check them out like a library and they have a park and water play area for kids. It's so much fun and we love having a reason to go downtown Dallas. 

We had lunch and then played around on the grass for a bit, threw a ball around and played tag. 

We then headed over the kid area and splashed in the water. And splashing in the water led to June being soaked! Thankfully we had some what of dry clothes. She may have spent the rest of the afternoon in a sweater and panties. She loved playing in the water and I have a feeling we will be at many splash parks this summer. She didn't want to leave! 

We played and played all afternoon. 

I drove home and everyone fell asleep. Dan told me he would come inside in just a minute, so I left him and June asleep in the car.

Baseball!

*note: As I blog about baseball, we are watching baseball. Never enough baseball. 

Baseball season has started and we are so excited! Even better we were able to go to the opening series of the season. Our friend Hallie, who works with Dan and we knew from Baylor in Waco, had the brilliant idea of going to see the Rangers vs. Philadelphia game with a group friends from work! We don't say no to going to a baseball game! It was even more fun because it was Owen's first game! I was a little nervous to see how he would do, but we survived the hockey game a while ago with him, so I figured a baseball game couldn't be much different, but still a little nervous. 

Heading into the game. Owen is sporting June's old Texas Ranger's T-shirt. First thing we did was head to the gift shop and bought her a new one. 

It was also dollar hot dog night. I was the chosen one to go buy a bunch of hot dogs, but come to find out there is a 5 hotdog limit per person. A lame rule, but I totally get why they do it! That didn't stop us from eating so many hotdogs! 

June loves hotdogs and didn't stop chomping it until it was gone. Plugged ears and all. 

OD's first baseball picture with his momma. I'm sure there will be many more to come. It is so crazy that June was this age when we took her to her first game. I feel like that was just yesterday! Here we are today with little Owen in our laps and June in her own seat! SLOW DOWN TIME! 

Lancaster baseball crew

Dan took June down to get what was supposed to be a small treat. She walks up with the biggest grin on her face holding a Ranger's helmet with ice-cream in it. 

The game was a good one! The Ranger's were behind all the way until the bottom of the ninth and then they scored for the win! It was so good. Owen fell asleep in my arms and June ended up in Dan's lap. The kids did fantastic and we can't wait for our next game! GO RANGER'S!! 

Friday Photo Dump

This kid and his blanket! He has to have his blanket shoved in his face to fall asleep. It scares me half to death but I can't control it! He loves it!! So I just have to sneak in every time he falls asleep to move it so he can breath! Thankfully his blankets are light enough to breath through! 

Our days outside are getting more and more! We Love it out in the sunshine and riding bikes.

My little bud is getting so good at sitting up. He can sit up for a bit all by himself and then slowly falls and face plants. June thinks its hilarious when he tips over. He just has a startled look every time it happens. 

Tummy time is getting so good too! Thank goodness, because his bald spot is getting pretty big and we need some time to have it grow back! 

No explanation needed. Just pure heart melting moment happening. 

Lots of days spent with friends and riding in the wagon. June's little friends just discovered that they are strong enough to pull each other in the wagon. So thats all we do when friends come over to play. 

Owen is definitely out numbered. In fact he's the only boy in the little group of friends we hang out with on a regular basis. But he sure does get a lot of attention !! 

Making blueberry cookies and eating more batter than the actual baked ones! 

Spring has arrived in Texas and that means all the critters are arriving too! We don't mind it's like our own little critter zoo with all the lizards and geckos we have crawling around on the outside of our house! June Loves 'em! 

When our wards split we got put back to one o'clock church... again... It's painful being at that time with a toddler, but seeing the bright side of things at least when Owen is a toddler we will be back to 9am. It's all about positive thoughts! So she falls asleep after church, it's impossible to wake her up, and then she doesn't go to sleep until 10. She just reads and plays in her bed. 

This past week, it was pretty nice outside, but still a bit windy. June and I were out in the backyard playing and she wanted to splash in the pool, so I let her. Then all of the sudden she is full on playing in the pool. She ended up completely naked and sitting and swimming in the pool. The water was FREEZING!!!! but she loved it and I couldn't pull her out!!

So this stool folds up and she drags it with her everywhere. Meaning she gets into things she once wasn't able to reach.. little stinker! 

Handy workers in the Lancaster house!

June loves helping me put make up on every morning, but the most favorite part is the lip gloss. She puts some on, then she puts some on me and back and forth, back and forth until both our lips are super thick with lip gloss. It's such a good part of my day! (sorry it's a bit blurry, make up in progress) 

Bluebonnet 2014.... it just wasn't our year

Oh my. HA!

Every year we take it upon ourselves, being Texan's and all, to take pictures in the bluebonnets. I picked a day and took the kids to my favorite bluebonnet spot, where there are thousands of them! I love it. 

   The whole experience started off kind of rocky with it being windy, June not wanting to go, and OD sound asleep. But I knew if I procrastinated it any longer the bluebonnets would be gone and I would regret not doing it. So we went. 

The photo session did not go as smoothly has others have before in the past. It was just awkward all around. 

Hahahahahahahaha I just can't stop laughing at these pictures with the two of them. Owen is basically the same size as June, and my sweet little June was trying her hardest to hold him up, but it was so hard for her.  So our 2014 bluebonnet pictures were kind of a bust, but I did get some candid shots that somewhat work. I really love my babes and think they will every cuteness award there is out there. 

 I love this picture of June. It reminds me of 60's or 70's with her windy hair and braid on the side. Then when I transferred it to a rendition of black and white it made it even more 60's or 70's.

Though the pictures of the two of them may not make it into a picture frame, they sure gave me a good laugh and I know that I can't help but say that 2014 bluebonnet pictures might just be my favorite to date.

Toes

Otis actually found his little toes a while ago, but I am just getting around to posting some pictures of him on the blog. It makes me a little sad to see how much he has grown and changed from these pictures to now. It's so incredible how it happens right before my eyes. He loves his toes and pulling off his socks to find those toes. I'm very much looking towards summer for many reasons, but one of those is not having to have socks on these little feet all the time.  

All Panties

This little lady of mine has officially moved on from pull ups and is in panties all the time. She has been staying dry for a while now during nap time so we decided to leave her in panties for her naps and then at night put her in pull ups. Well a couple of weeks ago she would wake up in the morning completely dry. This kept happening, and I told her that if she could continue to stay dry she would no longer have to wear special panties, (pull ups) and we could pick out a prize. The girl took the offer and ran with it! We haven't had an accident yet and she yells for us in the middle of the night if she needs to go potty. I am so proud of her. This is a big step and she took it whole heartedly. She has repeated several times how proud she is to be in big girl panties all the time. She is such my little rock star! 

First Hair Cuts

The time finally came to cut June and OD's hair. Well actually it was just Owen that desperately needed one, and since June had never had a hair cut, I figured I better get hers trimmed too. I knew from the beginning that I wasn't going to go to crazy, just a trim for June and then get rid of OD's awesome growing mullet in the back. 

     My friend Kathleen did an awesome job, and June knows her so she felt comfortable in letting her cut her hair! OD sat on my lap and bobbed his little head all around, but somehow Kathleen managed to cut it and keep it straight! Miracle Worker!! Then June was able to sit on the booster and get her hair cut all on her own. She did great as long as she had her sucker! Really it was very low key and very fast but I had to document their first hair cuts! Owen's hair looks so much better and I can now actually style it decent and not have him look so homeless. Not a fan of homeless children. Thanks again Kathleen!!
