June Randoms

I'm trying so hard to play catch up with all the blog posts! It has already been a crazy summer and it won't be slowing down anytime soon!

June's Randoms

June loves doing yoga with me. She is all about it and I love how she tells me to take a picture of her latest yoga pose.

With moving soon, we have slowly been putting away toys (or throwing them away without them knowing ;) ) so we have been playing a lot with glow sticks. Mostly in the bathroom.

These little beads are so fun for the kids to play with but they are the worst little things to clean up! I truly hate them, but my kids love them so it's worth the bit of hassle.

We have been furniture shopping like maniacs since we are replacing 90% of our furniture in the new house. It meant that the kids tagged along some times and it was never a dull moment. Especially in the bed section. They were loving the beds! What kid wouldn't!

June had her end of year dance recital "Into the Woods" Their dance number was a cute number of "Little Red Riding Hood." June did great!

Miss Lisa was such a great teacher. June learned a lot from her this year.

After her dance recital we went to her favorite restaurant, Benihanas.

I love checking in on these kiddos during rest time. We have been working on having very much a lone time where the kids can just quietly play. It allows them to be bored, to think on their own and create the most imaginative things I've seen. It's been so great. Don't get me wrong, we still watch movies and play on iPads but we have been enjoying the quiet time as well.

Kate's hair is getting so curly. June or Owen have no curl so it's so fun having this blond curly hair.

One of my yoga challenges required a trip-pod headstand. Dan has been getting so good at his headstands lately so I included him on the challenge.

Father and son outing. There is nothing Owen loves more than a giant pretzel.

Lots of swim time

Lunch with daddy one day at Chick Fil A. Kate was a hoarder with the ketchup. She wouldn't let go of any of the packets.

June and I one day during naps taking selfies.

Out running one morning and there were so much wildlife out. There was a mama duck with her ducklings. They were so cute.

Our friends threw us a going away pool party. Though we haven't moved very far we won't be seeing them on a regular basis. It was a fun little "See ya Later".

My friend Jenna taking care of both our Kate's.

June was learning how to tie a tie and after she put it on and said "Take a picture, I'm daddy!" What a goober!

My personal biker gang

On our summer list of things to do, building a fort and having a slumber party was the thing to do! That fort ended up staying for like a month. Owen loved having it in his room and slept in it every night.

Early morning time, Owen loves coming and crawling into bed with us. He always ends up falling asleep again. I don't mind because he is such a snuggler.

The buyers of our home had some major set backs and we pushed off closing for almost a month. At one point we thought the sale was going to fall through. Thankfully everything worked out but it was a lot of stress and worry. They gave us flowers one day to say thank you for dealing with all the hassle. It was a nice gesture and I love having fresh flowers in the house. So it all worked out.

Random marble play

It's no secret that yoga has taken over at our house. Kids included. I love that every time I say "Yoga Pose" to Kate she drops and gives me a pose. It's so adorable. This particular day she got real creative with her no hands.

We took advantage of having the pool as much as we could before we moved. We had playdates constantly with friends.

Our sweet babysitter Mikeala. We had her babysit one last time before we moved. June adored her and she truly was the perfect example of what all babysitters should be like. She cleaned and did the most fun crafts and tastiest treats with the kids. She just got her drivers license and even said she would be willing to make the drive every once in a while out to Roanoke to babysit. So we may be seeing her again. June would die over that!

Little Kate not wanting to partake in any church responsibilities. The hall was a pretty regular place until we started nursery.

The Sunday before I flew home I was released as the Primary President of the Carrollton 4th ward. Definitely bitter sweet feelings. I loved being with the kids, especially my own, and learning so much but it was a lot of work and responsibility, so it feels good to have  a breather. It was a fun calling in the end!

Owen was beside himself with excitement that the ducks were in our front yard just hanging out. We tried to see how close we could get.

Splash park days with friends

I love summer. Well really I love every season. It's all about embracing it, not just enduring it. And summer is one of those seasons that you just have to embrace and enjoy it for what it is. Hot! Haha which means constant swimming, which means constant tired kids and lots of naps!

More playdates with friends

June created the Ocean one day with play dough. She really wanted to show Dan before we cleaned up so we took a picture to send it to him.

More yoga work

We made homemade slime and it was actually really easy and fun. The kids loved it and it wasn't super messy.

Living the life of floaties and popsicles

My friend sent me this picture after church one day. Owen and Max are good little buddies. Really Owen's first real friend at this age. It was sad to say goodbye to him. They were always so rough and tumble with each other and exactly the perfect pair.

End of June Randoms. June seems like a blur. Summer so far seems like a blur. Slow down already.

Sibling Weekend

A week before my parents came home from their mission, my siblings and I all got together to clean my parents house and get it ready for them to come home! It honestly was one of my favorite weekends with my siblings!

I flew into Salt Lake late on Thursday night. My sisters picked me up and we headed straight to Idaho. We didn't get on the road until close to 10pm so we were amped up on Energy drinks, Costa Vida and excitement. We also all had on white V neck shirts. Unplanned.

We did some stop drop and yoga at the Idaho Sign

We arrived at Mike and Shay's house around one in the morning. Meg was already there and we walked in instantly laughing. Like uncontrollably laughing. I don't even remember what was so funny but I seriously could not contain myself.

The next morning we made a game plan at Mike and Shay's house, stopped at a gas station to load up on drinks and snacks and then headed up to Rexburg to start getting my parents house ready.
Arriving at my parents house was awesome. It was the first time setting foot in there after three years. Things changed but still all the same.
It was so great being back at the house. My home for my entire childhood.

We had a bunch of work to do. Cleaning and getting all furniture put back together. We wanted to make it feel as much like home as possible.

Cleaning things out and I found my wedding dress, along with all my wedding dishes and other treasures. Someday I'll get those to my house. I love my wedding dishes!
I wanted to see if I still fit into my wedding dress. 10 years later and everything still fit. Sadly my chest is a lot smaller due to nursing all three of my children. Hahaha but everything else still fit like a glove. Good work body!

Cleaning and keeping little ones entertained. I didn't have my kids with me and honestly, it was great!

We cleaned and lifted so much! I can't even go into how much furniture we lifted up the stairs and how heavy everything was. Some points were so funny that I couldn't even lift anymore from laughing. It was hard work but we sure made it a blast!

Like I said, we partied while we worked!

Drink run! We lived off of Maverick drinks!

We worked and worked and worked some more. We did most of the work on Friday. We went back to Mike and Shay's and hung out for the rest of the night.

The next morning we woke up and headed back to Rexburg for more cleaning and prepping the house. We drove my Dad's truck back to the house.

We finished getting everything cleaned up and organized and still had the evening to play. So we went back to Mike and Shay's house to roast hot dogs and marsh mellows and have some fun. Mike and Shay have some fun riding toys like 4-wheelers and motorcycles. They also have some dirt and hills behind their house.
Well my sister Michelle had the brilliant idea to ride over the dirt hills. So she gets on and starts riding the motorcycle over the dirt hill. There is a pallet that blocks her and she takes a sharp turn and rides right into us. I mean we are up and jumping around and she just plows into the fire pit. We have it all on video and we have watched it so so so many times. Thankfully no one was hurt, not even my Michelle. It was beyond funny. And it just kept getting funnier the more we watched the video. Seriously such a great moment.
This was the damage

The after math. We were all just blown away of what happened and that no one got hurt. I mean how everyone jumped out of the way in time is beyond me and how Michelle walked away is a miracle. Seriously as I am typing this I am crying from laughing because just reliving it is so funny!

Sunday came and we headed back to Salt Lake. I hung out in the airport for a while and then headed home. Flying without kids was such a breeze. It was great. Such a fun weekend. One of the best.

Owen

Owen's teacher from this past school year sent me these pictures and looking through them all made me really stop and think about my little Owen. Owen is Owen. He is his own breed. There is nothing that can push him into something. He is fierce. He fights will full conviction and can throw a tantrum like no other. He is beyond loving to his little sister and has more passion in his little body than I see in most adults these days. He cares when there is something to really care about. He gives the best hugs and when those kisses hit my cheek out of no where it about does my heart in.
He has grown in strides over these last handful of months. I mean HUGE strides. Emotionally and Physically. He is able to talk and communicate much better which really helps cut down on the tantrums. He still fights pretty hard for what he wants but can negotiate like a boss. It's hard to say no to his negotiations at times. :)
I'll be honest, he isn't friendly to everyone but he deeply loves his little pack of friends. He cares for them and always talks about them. I love that side of him. I love how he has to snuggle with me when he wakes up from naps. I love that we have to sing "Rock A Bye" every night but in our special way. I love how smart he is. Oh so smart. He is catching things that June never did at his age. He's so aware and alert.
I love this little boy with every ounce of energy I have. Don't get me wrong, he has truly done me in more than once and I sometimes feel like I am the worst mother in the world when it comes to him. But I can't deny how much this little boy has my heart. No matter how angry he makes me, he can cool me down with one of his jokes. It's only getting better with him. Night terrors and all.

Father's Day

I felt bad this year because Father's Day was a bit over shadowed by the other millions of things we have going on. I felt even more bad because Dan gave me such a wonderful Mother's Day and I just couldn't keep up.
It was still a great Father's Day though and we celebrated Dan all day long!

We went to the park and played Sunday morning and then came home and got ready for church.

Kate is at that beastly age where she is too little for nursery but doesn't want to just sit. So we roam the halls on a regular basis.

We came home from church and let daddy rest while we made dinner and had some down time.

We opened presents and one of his presents was an ice cream maker. The kids really wanted to get him that, so we went for it. It actually made some pretty good ice cream.

I am so grateful for Dan and his role in our family. He is such a good dad and our children adore him. He's incredibly smart, handsome and genuinely kind. Got the whole package with this guy. Happy Father's Day Dan. Love you more than words can ever say.
