First Day of School!

School has officially started and it's good to be back into the swing of things. Schedules and more organization. My favorite! It's now September and even though Texas is still pumping up the heat with 90 degree weather we are gearing ourselves for fall.

We knew things were on the move once we got home from Tahoe and the first thing to start was school!

Since we were in Tahoe we actually missed June's first day of school. We got home on a Tuesday night and we didn't miss a beat and got ready for school that same night. First day outfits were picked out, baths and off to bed early. Our bodies were on Tahoe time so we were all feeling a little out of sorts.

Since it was a Wednesday it meant that Owen was going to school that day too. It actually worked out perfectly. Dan had the day off, so we were able to both get the kids all ready for school.

During School shopping the kids got to pick out their new lunch boxes for the year. Shock me shock me with their choices!

That morning actually went pretty smoothly. Everyone was up and in good moods. I think we were all excited for the first day of school.

This will be June's last year in Preschool. She is attending three days a week from 9 until 2pm. June loves it and thrives at school. We weren't hesitant at all to send her. Dan gave her a priesthood blessing and then she was ready to go.

This is Owen's first year in Preschool. He attends the same school June does but only goes once a week from 9-2. We were a little more worried about sending Owen. It's new to him, and we weren't sure how he would handle it. Dan gave Owen a blessing as well and everyone was ready to start the 2016-2017 school year

This was the best shot I could get of the two of them together. Owen does not hold still to save his life.

We took both kids to their classes. We took June first to get all settled. She told us she didn't need our help and was fine going on her own. So independent and I never want to crush that spirit!

Then we took Owen to his class and the kid didn't even think twice about going in. He walked in as if he owned the place and never looked back. We said goodbye, I hugged him one more time, for the millionth time and then we walked out. I shed a few tears and then got excited for Dan and I's morning together. It was so so great having Dan there.

Those next five hours were amazing! We ran errands we went shopping and didn't buy a single kids item. I actually got to buy clothes for myself! We had lunch all while sweet baby Kate took her nap in the stroller and then continued to be our perfect baby.
After having three children in tow, having just one baby is basically like no baby. Man its so easy!!

It was a great day and soon came to a close. We were excited to go get the kids and see how their first day went.

From what we heard the day went super well! The kids did great, no tears, no potty accidents and everyone was walking away happy! June's teacher said "June is a delight and that girl sings everything, everywhere" I laughed because it's so true. The girl is always singing."
Owen's teacher said "He did wonderful and no blowups. He loved playing with the cars most!"Shocker! Not! Of course he was happy playing with the cars most. It's his thing!

When Owen saw June he gave her a huge hug! And Owen's teacher said he got so excited when he saw her as they passed in the hall.

After, we all headed out for an after school treat! We went and got ice-cream at Andy's!

All in all I think school will go great this year. I missed the little ones, but man I was able to get so much done!

School is now in session, fall is coming and exciting things are in the works! This time of year always gets me so giddy and so full of life! It's refreshing and I love it!
