And He Walks!

Ok so really Owen's real first steps were 1.25.215. He only took about 2 steps and then fell on his knees. But now he is getting better and better! Taking way more steps and more willing to walk places. He will hold my hand and walk anywhere, but still prefers to crawl when he wants to get somewhere fast. He was walking like crazy at the park today, so I figured that I could officially claim that OD is walking! It's so much fun to just watch his little mind at work, trying to figure out the next step!
I am so so so proud of him and just love this little boy to pieces!

Here is a short video of him walking...

OWeN Walking from Lesli Lancaster on Vimeo.

This is sort of a bad picture of him walking, but for blog book purposes I thought I best to have this documented with a picture!!

Owen's Stats

Owen had his 15month check up on 1.26.2015.
Here are his stats...

 Weight: 22lbs 6oz (21%)
Height: 32.3 in (81%)
Head: 47.6 (63%)

I put these two pictures side by side of June at 15months and Owen at 15 months. June looks just like I did as a baby, and well Owen and Dan are basically the same baby in this picture! These two kiddos of mine look nothing a like.

Scrub Scrub

When Dan and June go to gymnastics...

I get to hangout with my little OD and it's the most fun just being with him. It can be hard catching every little moment when there are two little ones always wanting your attention. So it is so special to have one on one time.

Little OD was being the most adorable thing in the bath and cracking me up. Like literally laugh out loud, so I had to bust out the camera and catch a few of those moments, and I also stepped back and just watched this little human explore the bath tub all to himself. I could sit and watch them explore all around them for hours.

He was real upset I pulled the plug from the bathtub. It's not everyday he gets the tub all to himself.

It really takes my breath away at times how much I love these little people of mine.

The Dentist

June and Owen had their dentist appointments this past week... I promise to not blog every dentist appointment, haha but this was OD's FIRST dentist appointment, so therefore it must be documented. Both kiddos had their appointments scheduled for the same time. I was a bit hesitant to be in a different room while June was in another room by herself... Ok I was A LOT hesitant. I told my dentist that I didn't know if June would like to be in there a lone while I was in with Owen, but Dr.Steele is the bomb.com and she told me to just give it a try and then if it doesn't work than we can just do one kid at at time.
So I went across the hall and of course June did AWESOME!! She did so great listening to the dental assistant, sat through her whole cleaning without getting up once, and cooperated way more than I even do at the dentist! I was so proud of her. I know I was just right across the hall, but she didn't know that and she was so brave. Nice work little lady!

June now has all of her baby teeth and no cavities. She is really good at brushing her teeth by herself and brushes with fluoride toothpaste and is super awesome (and messy) at spitting. She likes to floss and lick the floss. But who wouldn't, it's bubblegum flavor. Haha.
I snapped this picture real quick before they came to get me for OD's appointment. She got "rock star" glasses while they were cleaning her teeth.

Owen also did fantastic for his first dentist experience. I kinda thought he would fight Dr. Steele brushing his teeth, but he loved it! He opened his mouth and just let her brush away. His gums are really swollen and I think the toothbrush felt good on them. He has 4 teeth on top and 3 on the bottom with another one about to pop. His teeth spacing are so far so good.

This was us sitting in the dentist chair waiting for Dr. Steele.

The kids got little goodie bags with new tooth brushes and toothpastes, plus some fun little trinkets... June has been obsessed with the little bag that it came in. She was a little sad when I took the toothbrush and toothpaste out. So we filled it with other little things. We have carried this little bag everywhere with us. She fell asleep after running around all day and she had a tight grip on it in the car.

I'm glad my kiddos are liking the dentist. We will see as the years go on, when I'm sure they will need  Braces or the first time a cavity needs to be filled, but for now I get to enjoy the excitement and happiness of the dentist.

Gymnastics

The doors open to so many possibilities when you turn three. I feel like every activity has the age limit of 3+ and now that our little June bug is 3, we are welcoming those open doors and ready to play! I think preschool was her first big step, and she has LOVED IT! So we weren't to worried about starting other extra activities. I'm really excited to have her try new things and start learning what she may love to do.  There many little things that we are excited to have her try!! Obviously not in an overwhelming kind of way. Hahaha

We started June in gymnastics the very first week in January, so she hasn't been doing it very long, and the class we wanted her in, kept being full, so when there was finally an opening for her, we swooped in and got her in the class.

It's at night so it's kind of become a daddy and June thing. She LOVES riding in daddy's car, so it's been a special treat for her each week to ride in there.

June's first week she was a little hesitant at doing the things the teacher was wanting her to do. She loved the tramps and bouncing on her knees. She couldn't quite figure out how to bounce on her bum.

Learning how to stretch their bodies

After her first class daddy treated her to blizzards! These two and their ice-cream.

She loves getting dressed up and ready for gymnastics.

This past week, we all ended up going to her class to watch her. Owen was being his adorable self and was pretty awesome hanging out while June was in class. It was SO FUN watching her. I seriously couldn't take my eyes off of all the fun little things she was doing. Just within the last few weeks of class she has majorly improved, and isn't terrified of the foam pit like she was at the beginning. She also can bounce on her bum and kick both her feet in a triangle. She progressing and it's awesome.

At the end of the class they bow to the parents. It's pretty much the cutest thing!
She is loving it! She talks about gymnastics all the time, and shows us her "awesome tricks" as she likes to call them. She is so proud when she learns something new or does something by herself for the first time. I can just see that little self confidence coming out in her.

Man is she growing up and being this amazing little girl. I will never not be thankful for this perfect little chicka who I get to call my daughter. I really have the best.

2015's first Randoms

2015 has started off with... a normal pace. Haha. It's the beginning of January, so it's really been all about getting back to normal schedules, having daddy back to work full time, and just getting ready for an awesome 2015. But just because we are back to normal doesn't mean we slow down any... Turns out life is just as busy as you left it those 3 weeks of Christmas Vacation.

We went to the Perot Museum, our usual hangout on cold days... It's been cold, and not any fun kind of cold. The Museum is definitely our go to, we love it and we continue to be members for another year. Totally worth it!!

The kids play area is worth it all on it's own. There are days where I take the kids down just to go to the play place. It's amazing and has lots to do. It seriously keeps the kiddos happy for hours.

I love this picture. Owen was able to play at the water table at 14 months old. June wasn't able to reach it until she was like 2. Hahaha It's so amazing their differences in body stature.

One day while June was at school, I helped a lady clean her house. Owen was my little tag a long buddy, but he just sat there, ate his cheerios and walked around on the walls a bit. Honestly I know I kinda give this kid a hard time about being a monster, or constantly into things, but for the most part he is such a good little boy. He seriously wins hearts by that flashy smile, and he listens rather well... for a one year old. Hahaha.

Owen discovered how much fun it is to feed Ranger, which means Owen never eats his lunch. He loves it and giggles and claps every time. I might have to make another sandwich, but its worth those giggles and happy claps!

We had ONE warm day before it turned cold again and we spent every minute we could outside.
June hasn't really taken to the stride bikes. She rather would be peddling her bike or pushing her scooter, but the day we went to the park I asked her what she wanted to bring and she said her red bike. She rode it for a while, but then asked where the peddles were... hahaha I told her good point. She still likes to ride it though and her other bike has peddles, so I think she's set for a while.

We played at the park to our hearts content.

Owen full on fell into a deep sleep in this position with cracker half way up to his mouth. Poor kid, Lunch is pushed back a bit the days June has school so he is always so tired eating lunch.

My little lady has been obsessed with baking lately. We have made bread, cookies, muffins... so on and so on. She loves being in the kitchen helping her mom with whatever task is at hand. She has gotten really good at cracking eggs and putting them into the mixture all by herself. I hope she got the baking gene. I don't have it so much. And does she not look so grown up in this picture?! I sent it to Dan and work, and he was blown away at how old she looks. We officially have a little girl!

Their chairs have been their number one go to place, to play, watch cartoons, read books. It's been awesome. If one has a chair out the other one has to have their chair. I should just leave them out, but for now they stay in their rooms until asked otherwise.

June has been learning how to change her own clothes.. taking on and off. It takes forever morning and night to change her clothes, but she loves it and thats what it's all about.

She also loves under the table lately. She eats and then goes and lays under the table on a regular basis.

Owen is refusing to walk, so he just walks around cupboards and really any object to hold him up. He CAN walk, he just does it when he doesn't know he's doing it, but as soon as he realizes he isn't holding on to anything he slowly drops down to his knees. Lazy baby.  :)

Our 2014 blog book came and we couldn't get over how large it was. We thought 2013 was big! hahaha This is a comparison to our first blog book 2008, to now.. 2014. Turns out I really love to blog!

One Saturday, after a morning birthday party, Dan and I went for a run. Owen was not impressed and neither were we. We underestimated how cold it was and only ran like a mile. We were all freezing by the time we got home, but we got out and did our run!

Dan flipped Owen's carseat so now both babies are turned towards us. I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!! Oh man life in the car is SOOOOO much easier when you can reach them! Looking forward to our first road trip like this!

Keeping the blood flowing on cold days. We love our Wii. We bought it back when it was just Dan and I, now June is starting to really get into it. She loves it too!

The weather got above 50 and so outside we went. Owen was napping and June so desperately wanted to get into the pool. I told her it was still too cold, so she opted to cleaning it instead. We CANNOT wait for summer!!

Our Puppy Ranger turned 6! It's so crazy that he is that old.

That night we had a little birthday party for him, with doggy cake and a few gifts. We got him new dog bowls which he refuses to eat of, so we are trying to adjust him to them. He's so funny about it, and a new blanket for his dog bed. June helped make the doggy cupcakes. They were made of all good ingredients but kinda nasty. Range loved them, so did Owen. Haha

We love our Range dog. He can be super annoying at times, but he simply is the best and we couldn't imagine our family without him. We don't even want to think of the future when he gets older...

We have been pretty busy lately so haven't had hardly anytime at the library. Between school, errands and playdates, the library hasn't been on the priority list... So Dan got home from his first round of golf of the season (WOOT)  and we decided to go to the library. I've missed it.

This little man LOVES books. Giving him a book always solves the crying problem, and a book is a must when changing his diaper. He loves turning the pages and could look at them forever. Both our kids have been little book worms and I LOVE IT!!

So the beginning of the year has been good. We are excited for our upcoming awesomeness and are really looking forward to the year!

June said...

Mom: "it's time for lunch"
June: " No"
Mom: " June come have lunch babe"
June: "No!"
Mom: "Tell me no one more time..." (In my stern voice)
June: "Yes"

I couldn't help but laugh, run and give her the biggest hug... She's the best.

Sunbeam!

June Bug is a Sunbeam! It is so crazy that my little girl is now in primary!

We have been talking about becoming a Sunbeam for a while, and our Nursery has done a pretty good job at helping them learn about Primary and not being in Nursery any more. It's a big step for such little ones, so I was a little worried of how June would respond to a big change.
She has been singing non-stop "Jesus wants Me for a Sunbeam!" She's really good at singing it and knows all the words. And of course the jumping up and down part is the best.

I couldn't wait to take her after Sacrament on Sunday! Dan and I walked her to the primary room and helped her find a little chair with her class. Since there are so many little ones, they split the classes into 2. June is in the Sunbeam "B" class.  Her teachers are Sister Romney and Sister Smith.

When we first dropped her off, she asked if we were going to stay, and we told her that we had to go to our classes and couldn't stay... She got a little sad but we told her, that her other little friends were there and her teachers too. We reminded her of all the things she gets to do in primary, that we had talked about.  She told us she was ok and so we left her.

Ok, you can totally make fun of me, I get it, I'm a little over the top, but I just had such a hard time leaving her. My heart hurt just a little knowing she was growing up too fast. I tried to be so brave and not cry... Dan could totally see I was fighting back tears and told me it was ok to cry, so I did. I don't think I left the primary room, until I started getting weird looks. Ha.
She is just my little everything, and these moments are just too precious. It was hard to leave.

My friend, who is in primary, saw me struggling, so later on she sent me this text!

It made me so happy! I had to get up and leave Sunday School, so I could go and peak at her through the window.

After 3rd hour we picked her up and she was sooooooo excited about Primary. She said "I love primary! Primary, Primary, Primary!!" She was all smiles and happy to be in primary. She kept telling us how she's such a big girl now that she's in primary! It was a huge sigh of relief to know we wouldn't be fighting that battle. She did great and she seemed to have really loved it!

She was so excited about all of her fun things she got from her class. She got this "I am a child of God" Plaque that was on marble to put in their rooms. She wanted to do it all by herself. She is pretty proud of it.

I am so excited for the first time she sings in sacrament, the first time she gives a talk or says the prayer and just all the little firsts that come with being in primary. I love this little lady to the moon and back. She makes my heart sing! I'm so glad she's my little sunbeam!
