Happy One Year Blog

I was anticipating the one year of my blog. I told Dan that I could not miss the chance to write on my blog every year on April 6th. Well I forgot. ha ha luckily I did post the weekend on there so I guess that counts, but it is fun to look back and see all that has happened in a year. Time is flying by and I can't believe that Dan and I will be celebrating our two year anniversary this November. I hope to look back a year from now, and be just as satisfied with life as  I am today looking back on all the memories good and bad. I am sure this year will be a lot more eventful with so many changes, but wow what a life, and I am so happy that I get to share it with the man I love!

Lets go Fly a Kite

Brooke and Jeff came to pay us a visit this weekend, which was well needed since I haven't seen Jeff since Christmas. Being the best grandpa ever, my dad always gets the grand kids special treats for when they come to visit, and this time was kites! The weather was perfect for flying kites so we all put on our coats and hats, and went to go fly a kite. Mary Poppins would be very pleased with our spring activity.

Here is Gramps getting the kites started

He seriously is the best grandpa! My kids are very lucky (When I have kids that is)

Now I loved these pictures so i played with them a little bit in Photoshop.

Here is the before

and here is the after. Its just a saturation color change with, the kids color added back in.
This picture of Mike and Caden is my absolute favorite.
So here is the before picture....

Here is the after. I don't know why but I just love their positioning and stance in this picture. I am using it in my portfolio.
Its called:
"My Daddy Taught Me How to Fly"

Caden Flying his kite so high
Lauren and Caden Playing in the sand box. these kids were bound and determined to play outside, despite the freezing cold weather!

We later went to my mom's office to do an ultra sound on Brooke, and Morgan and Lauren were giving each other piggy back rides it was really cute, and funny.
Later that day we went shopping, and had lunch! It was so much fun. I love just shopping with the girls.

Sunday we just all watched general conference. Now this is an angel food cake. The last time my mom made this, she didn't fill it all the way, and the cake wasn't very full, so she decided to put all the batter in and this is what happened! we all just watched it bubble over the top, but it was really good!

Lauren was obsessed with grandma's classes and seriously wore them the whole weekend. I don't know how she didn't get a head ache, but anyways they were twins throughout the weekend. It was very cute. Isn't my mom seriously beautiful! holy smokes I hope I look just like her when I get older.
All in all it was a very fun and eventful weekend.

THE PAST WEEK'S THOUGHTS

Let me explain, that I use this blog to rant, and rave about different things, my worries, my problems, my happiness, my loves, my loses, and so on and so on. If you hate that kind of stuff, and well don't really care, then don't read this post, because I just need to get some of my fears out of my head. You better believe that this is about moving, and what life is going to be like after July. You can roll your eyes and say get over it, it will all work out, but I am scared, and I am not going to pretend.
I am scared to graduate, and actually get a job in my field
Where will I get our clothes dry cleaned?
What if someone asks me about my church, and I don't have a good enough answer?
What do I say when someone bashes the Mormon church?
Why did I chop off all my hair, when I am going to have to wear it curly in the humidity?
How often am I going to resent my family for getting together without me?
Will I cry a lot?
We think that it might be time for kids, but can I do it without my mom there all of the time?
People say expect to be approached to go into  crack houses in Waco, What the? Really?
What if I get lost, I can;t just pull over and ask strangers, they might shoot me
How many times will I hear the Tornado sirens go off?
Will I get eaten by spiders?

Pretty sure I can't stop thinking about all these things, and it freaks me out. Pretty sure people are sick of me asking these questions, but I don't care. Pretty sure I am completely stoked to move, but petrified of the thought of what the answers  to these questions.
Pretty sure I question if I am strong enough, I guess I have to be.

The Verdict is....

Well, here we are. The decision has been made...... Drum roll please............................
Ok people, we are moving to Waco Texas, yep I am going to become a Texan! Now, I am super excited, but also super scared. Just ask my friends Samantha and Quincy. I was with them when Dan told me that Waco has offered him a way better deal then expected, and even the advisor at Colorado, told him that this was a great offer and that he should take it. So the next step is finding a place to live, and heading on our way. We plan on going down there mid May to get a look at the town, and find a home for the next two years. Ok after writing this, I just started freaking out. Wow, I am moving out of the western states and actually going somewhere far, TEXAS! HOLY CRAP!

some facts

I looked at my blog today and realized that it has almost been two weeks since my last post. and while Dan and I are still debating, and praying so hard my knees hurt, I needed something to keep my mind off the whole "were are we going thing". i bet you just thought well Lesli what about school? shouldn't that keep you busy. well when you are graduating, you kind of just forget school, and really lose interest, like right now, instead of studying my case study due Friday, i am writing on my blog, Wow I really have my priorities straight, ha ha!
anyways so I have been looking up some random facts, and thought some were pretty funny so I am sharing. go ahead, let your self giggle a little bit.

Where should we move?

COLORADO STATE

VS.

BAYLOR TEXAS

The decision of where we are going to live has come down to 2 schools. One is in Boulder Colorado, and the other choice is Waco Texas. Now both of these schools are very good schools, and we think that we would enjoy living in either, but we just don't know. They both have their pros and cons, like Baylor Texas is one of the top geology schools, and gave Dan an incredible offer that's hard to turn down, but its so far away, and for those who know me, well this could be a struggle, ha ha. Then Boulder Colorado, which is closer to home, and only 4 hours from Salt Lake, but I don't think Dan wants to live where there is snow for a while. Either school we go to will be amazing, but its the living environment that makes it so hard. So we need help. what school should we go to?
