Puzzles all over the place

We have always loved a good puzzle and this past weekend was no exception. Friday night Dan pulled out a Rocky Mountain puzzle that we have had forever. 300 piece. June was instantly wanting to help! She was loving all the pieces and tried her darn hardest to match them up.

After June and OD went to bed Dan and I spent the rest of our evening sipping back Dr. Peppers, talking and finishing the puzzle.

The next morning we woke up and we really wanted to start another puzzle. So I got the kids ready while Dan ran to Hobby Lobby and picked us out a new puzzle. 1000 piece. We wanted to have it finished by Sunday night.
We spent the majority of our day on Saturday putting the blasted puzzle together. We may have neglected our children and June may have watched one too many movies, but we just got really into it and couldn't stop! Don't worry we weren't that horrible of parents. We did have a fun Saturday with them, just not our usual activeness.
We also may have put the two little rascals to bed a little earlier so we could work on it. Saturday night was spent as the same as Friday, just a few more treats! It was so fun and a fantastic way to spend the weekend talking the night away with my love. Conversations get cut off quite frequently due to two adorablenesses begging for our attention. A stage of life that I someday will miss, so I can't really complain, but when we had the whole night to just talk over a puzzle... well it was fantastic!
Sunday we attended to our church responsibilities and didn't ignore our children as much. We put the kids to bed and we were able to finish the puzzle.
We actually thought it was going to be an easy one since there were so many different colors, but it actually took us longer than we thought and by the end of the night both our brains were about to explode! But we finished!!

Then we have June... The puzzle master! No really! She is so good at putting her puzzles together. She has always loved puzzles from the day she could put the little pegs into the matching slots. When we go to our library, all she wants to do is puzzles. And she has REALLY gotten into the 24 piece puzzles. She can do them all on her own and she does them over and over again, but every time she does it, she is very excited as if it's the first time. It's pretty darn cute! It seriously keeps her busy for hours. Thank goodness for the dollar store and their unlimited supply of puzzles. She puts them together until they are bent, split, and ripped, but it still doesn't stop her.
Here she is saying "Ta-Da!!" Showing me her puzzle.
